It’s been a dizzying week for many of us. Are you yearning for a reset for your soul? Perhaps this week’s prayer can help you do just that.
In the dead of winter, it can be tempting to slip into a deadened state of mind, but if we choose to view this season as a time of spiritual preparation, we will reap the rewards of new life in the spring and a harvest thereafter. Practicing the ways of Jesus – silence, solitude, prayer, knowing and trusting the Word of God, serving others – is the blueprint to a life full of the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Sometimes, life is hard. Really hard. And as much as we’d like the Holy Spirit to take us by the hand and whisk us out of the war, it’s much more likely that what we are experiencing is indeed entrusted to the mystery of God’s holy plan in our life. This week’s intention is about reminding ourselves of God’s promises in a time and within a world that is quick to convince us otherwise.
We tend to be very hard on ourselves, when all the while, God created us from all that is good, just like him. Take in this week’s intention with a breath of fresh air, and stand a little bit taller, because you are good.
