It’s easy to coast through life and never go deeper than a surface relationship with just about everyone… our spouse, our friends, our co-workers, and even God. This week, examine your life through the lens of your availability and your vulnerability. Are you brave enough to learn to love – to really love? To forgive? To surrender your control? To rest instead of hurry? To worship instead of wander? If you thought to yourself “yes” for even a second, this week’s intention is for you.
In the dead of winter, it can be tempting to slip into a deadened state of mind, but if we choose to view this season as a time of spiritual preparation, we will reap the rewards of new life in the spring and a harvest thereafter. Practicing the ways of Jesus – silence, solitude, prayer, knowing and trusting the Word of God, serving others – is the blueprint to a life full of the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
