Weekly intention

We tend to be very hard on ourselves, when all the while, God created us from all that is good, just like him. Take in this week’s intention with a breath of fresh air, and stand a little bit taller, because you are good.

This week, I will remember that you are good, even when life isn’t.

This week, I will see that everything in creation is its own miracle of your making, and I’ll stop a moment to appreciate the wonder of my surroundings.

This week, I will lean into your promises, Lord. I will plant in my heart your goodness and remember that, because you made me in your image, I, too, am filled with goodness.

Let me harness the good within me now, Lord, for your glory. Let it rise up inside me and be shared with others through the kind words on my tongue, the compassion in what I see, your voice I hear, and a healing touch.

Push back the forces that would harm or thwart me from walking the path you’ve prepared for me, Holy Father. Crown me with beauty instead of ashes, and clothe me with your light.

Amen.

“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

This week’s intention is about reminding ourselves of God’s promises in a time and within a world that is quick to convince us otherwise.
